That's so GAY

The dis-oriented author is not politically correct. My son, had about a dozen friends over to play video games and I heard one of the guys say:

"Thats so gay."

Well, I was in the next room and I heard it. I stormed into the room and yelled:

Hey! We do not use that kind of language in this house!!! Don't let me hear you say "That's so gay" again. Instead, we say "that's so Lesbian, Gay, Bi-sexual and Trans-gendered". Or, "that's so LGBT!"

Iowa will soon make it illegal to say, ''that's so gay", in school.

Here in Iowa, our new Democrat legislature is politically correct. They are working on passing anti-bullying legislation. At first glance, you might think that it would be hard to oppose anti-bullying legislation. The problem is that this legislation seems to be more about officially accepting homosexuality as an alternative lifestyle than preventing bullying.

As Iowa House Minority Leader, Chris Rants wrote over at the Krusty Konservative blog:

The ugly truth is, this proposed law isn’t about stopping bullying from occurring – it’s about creating and codifying The List.

By the list, Rants means the list of protected groups. Here are the 18 groups (so far).

• age
• color
• creed
• national origin
• race
• religion
• marital status
• sex
• sexual orientation
• gender identity
• physical attributes
• mental ability or disability
• physical ability or disability
• ancestry
• political party preference
• political belief
• socioeconomic status
• familial status

Republicans tried to simplify the bill by saying, that all students should be free from bullying. Democrats voted it down. One of the Dems defended the list saying:

... students with these traits need to “feel safer” in school than student who don’t have these traits ...

I think the Dems are right but in the interest of covering all bases we should add:

• immigration status
• hair length
• accent
• income
• alcohol use
• family size
• preferred music style
• clothing brand
• piercings or lack of
• tattoos or lack of
• facial hair
• drug use
• smoking
• class attendance
• whether you've got rhythm
